Hmm would make some sense that when the second year minipets arrive for the japanese and taiwan players (+ all those i didn't mention where gw launched later) that the american and eu players get a chance of getting these pets... but that would take a long while...

No smite mini? Smites have to be the most hunted creature in GW history. A pet would be fitting

I really hope you don't mean via player ingame trades because it's ridiculous for anyone to have to pay a large amount of cash just because they're in a different region than others.

No, not through trades in game. These miniatures will be offered in other territories. No, I cannot yet share any details on how they will become available .

I think they will offer them as the tournament prizes.

Sounds cool, as a collector I appreciate easier ways to get these,

IF we were to ge tthem in a simialr way as to how they were originally released that would be great.

Obviously not being someone that participates in tournaments as of yet; or being good at rollerbeetle racing, 455,000 is my highest score, how anyone gets 470,000 is beyond me, I know some minis are beyond me, and I know if they are given for tournaments there will be complaining that not everyone could get them. I like getting them from magazines because they are easy to gain, or from holiday events, like the mini pig as they are easy too, but I don't expect this to be always the case.

Anyway, I'm happy somethign is in the pipeline, hopefully there will be a variety of means of gaining them

I do hope this is soon and comes in a fair and accessible to all way, such as magazine freebies like the Asura.

It was bad enough when the was only ONE set of Asian mini-pets!!!

Remember the GOTY upgrade weapons pack? Those are the weapons that were use to promoted GW in the far-east, such as coke play deal thing. Now if they make those Asia only mini pets in to an upgrade pack, do you thing anyone would buy it?

I certianly would, i love most of the Asian mini's, but i cant realistically ever see this happening and all those people that are demanding millions of gold for them would jump up and down screaming.

Why should that be a consideration?

They are called mini pigs...and while they were reasonably uncommon at the start of the CNY they became ridiculously common when the "bug" behind opening fortunes was "fixed". I am so anti-miniature its not even funny...gold sink the damn things and make a miniature NPC somewhere. People will spend the money anyways and at least this way the money is sinked rather than consolidated on monopoly guy type players.

Edit: Since it already came up...the rollerbeetles...good lord what a fiasco. Otherwise positively contributing members of the forum and the community at large were stepping all over each other...very poorly handled.

Let 'em jump I say. I'll buy the mini pets pack as well, heck I'll buy two packs.

in the 3rd post, with the chat log in it, towards the bottom of the chat log there is a mention from Gaile that she has been given some mini pets that will be used as prizes.

here's the quote:

I could be very wrong, but I assume Gaile to represent US more, which could mean US is also getting some mini-pet prizes

This is all of course my speculation.
Ah, thanks for that. From this and the other posts from Gaile and Alex it kind of sounds like even though some of the exclusives will be coming to other places there won't be too many extras (general mass won't be able to afford them still), unless of course we're talking about some kind of contest with a good pool of winners. Or they're having a fair number of contests.
At least that's what it seems like to me.

There is never a fair solution to an exclusive item or a limited release because of the "me too" factor to the game. They want to release promo minis to Japan? Go for it...but no one gets to bitch when people eBay gold to buy them stateside. Its hypocrisy at its finest.

I just hope these can be attainable by "some means" other than guessing who's going to finish 1-8 in the next tournament or Roller Beetle racing. To some people, these current options are not tempting enough to even take part of.

And to be honest, If I could ebay gold right now with out getting banned, I would buy a few mil and buy up some mini pets.
